Occupation time wins, kills earn points
The strategy on this page is community opinion from player guides, not game data. In the Castle Battle (King's Castle), alliances fight over the Castle in the middle of the map and the four turrets around it. An alliance wins by holding the Castle for a set unbroken stretch, or by having the most total occupation time when the battle ends; guides disagree on both lengths, see below. Most close battles go to time, so every short hold adds up. The winning alliance's leader appoints the King, who brings kingdom-wide buffs. Personal points come from combat, not from sitting in a structure: from defeating enemy troops, from your own troops being wounded, and from the power you have stationed in the Castle or a turret.
Prepare the alliance before the day
- Assign roles in advance: main and backup rally leaders, joiners, a garrison leader, turret teams and someone watching garrison numbers and healing.
- Upgrade the Infirmary and empty it before the battle. When it overflows, guides say 30% of the overflow is lost for good and 70% goes to the Enlistment Office.
- Save healing speedups for several days beforehand. Heal in small batches, about 30 minutes of healing at a time, and ask for alliance help after each one.
- Do not teleport into the Forbidden Zone around the Castle before it opens shortly before the battle.
- Use voice chat and UTC times so rally launches can be counted down together.
- Rally leaders activate pet skills and city buffs; joiners do not need to. kingshotguides.com suggests the Moose and Grizzly Bear pets.
How to take and keep the Castle
Turrets first
Every turret held by another alliance fires on the Castle garrison for 2% casualties a cycle, 8% with all four. Take turrets before rallying the Castle, and once your hold is stable, rally enemy turrets to reset them. In Kingdom of Power, kingshotmastery.com says each turret you hold also adds lethality to your kingdom's squads in the Castle.
Each enemy turret hurts your garrisonDouble rallies
An attack rally breaks the garrison and a garrison rally lands just behind it to take over, so the defender cannot refill in between. kingshotmastery.com says land within 1 to 5 seconds and cancel if the gap is wider; kingshotguides.com says about 5 seconds. If the attackers capture first, recall them so the garrison heroes take over.
Land within secondsRefill the garrison
Reinforce the moment you capture, top the garrison back up as turrets and rallies wear it down, and adjust the troop mix if one type is dropping. Remove heroes from your reinforcement marches so they do not displace the garrison leader's.
All battle longSmaller players
Join rallies with the hero and formation the leader asks for, help refill the garrison, take turrets when assigned and heal constantly. Aim for milestone rewards rather than solo attacks, which cost troops for little gain.

Heroes guides suggest
Use your strongest current attack heroes and best gear. The KingShot Wiki notes that dropping cavalry weakens Thrud's skill.

Where guides disagree
- Length and win condition: the KingShot Wiki, kingshotmastery.com and heaven-guardian.com say a 5-hour battle, won early by holding the Castle for 2.5 hours. kingshotguides.com and kingshotguide.org say 6 hours and a 3-hour hold. Our data page says up to 6 hours. Check the event screen in your kingdom.
- How often: the KingShot Wiki, kingshotmastery.com and our data say every 2 weeks on Saturday after the first battle; kingshotguide.org says about every 18 days.
- Garrison ratio: kingshotmastery.com and kingshotguides.com use 60/20/20 so all three troop types' hero skills stay active. The KingShot Wiki uses 60/40/0 for durability. heaven-guardian.com gives both.
- Attack against infantry: the KingShot Wiki drops cavalry for 50/0/50; kingshotguides.com uses 30/20/50.
- Garrison joiners: kingshotguides.com says four Sauls beat four Gordons, or three Sauls and a Fahd. kingshotmastery.com suggests two Sauls and two Gordons, with Howard for damage reduction.
- Healing speedups: the KingShot Wiki and kingshotguides.com say save them up for the battle. kingshotmastery.com says avoid using them unless the Infirmary is nearly full.
- Turret fire rate: kingshotguide.org says turrets fire every 4 minutes, speeding up to once a minute. kingshotmastery.com says only that fire intensifies the longer a turret is held.
